About the role
Based in the Coromandel district, with the main office in Thames, this role makes the end-to-end delivery of Council's projects happen. The Senior Project Manager is a key member of the team making a positive impact on the district's future. The role includes design, consultation, procurement, and managing the construction resources for each project assigned.
The role is responsible for leading and supporting the development, delivery, and successful completion of capital works/infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:
Project planning and delivery aligned to our project management framework
Procurement of resources through both design and construction phases
Financial management throughout the project life to approved budgets
Community and key stakeholder engagement
About you
As a Senior Project Manager, you should have at least 5 years' experience in project management to help deliver the capital works we are undertaking. It is desirable that you either have:
Extensive prior experience delivering projects for a local council,
an industry-recognized project management qualification, or
other professional qualifications that strongly align with the type of infrastructure projects we deliver (i.e. Civil or structural engineering, landscape design, architectural, etc.).
You'll need to demonstrate:
Working knowledge of the Resource Management and Public Works Acts
Previous experience in community consultation in NZ including iwi consultation
Previous experience in the Project Management of community-based projects in NZ
Working knowledge of the Local Government environment in NZ and of the Local Government Act
