Our Infrastructure Group plays a pivotal role in planning, designing, and implementing projects that support the growth and development of our region.Te Wero - The ChallengeThis role oversees the delivery of major Infrastructure Capital Projects using the Council's Project Management Framework. It ensures projects meet the time, cost, and quality goals of the Asset Management Plans and 10-year Long Term Plans, following best practices. Responsibilities include effective project management, from optioneering and detailed design to cost estimation, delivery, and handover of the Far North District Council's infrastructure projects.The ideal candidate should possess:Technical/Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a technical or professional role within an infrastructure organisation.Project Management Expertise: At least 10 years of experience in project management, demonstrating the ability to lead and deliver complex projects.Report Writing Skills: Proven ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive reports.Project Design and Execution: Experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of new infrastructure projects.Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and related asset management technologies.Legislative Knowledge: Familiarity with New Zealand local government legislation, practices, and standards.Regulatory Understanding: Knowledge of the Public Works Act and Resource Management Act.Water Systems Expertise: Experience or knowledge in water supply, treatment, and wastewater systems.These qualifications are essential for ensuring the successful delivery of our infrastructure projects and adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.Far North District Council is proud of our diverse workforce and is committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
