Be part of New Zealand's renewable energy future as part of the Mercury Hydro rehabilitation Team focusing on the upgrades of key generation assets on the Waikato River. Our Project Managers play a pivotal role leading these significant infrastructure upgrade projects.
We are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Project Manager to hit the ground running where you will play an important role and contribute towards the achievement of Mercury's future while working on large iconic pieces of critical infrastructure on the Waikato River in a varied and challenging role.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in a large rehabilitation program of work in a multi-year multi-site opportunity where you'll be leading a $300+MNZD contract over 10 years. You'll be joining a team of 12 people, who enjoy collaborating and sharing their knowledge and skills.

Key responsibilities include:
Ownership and leadership of projects to deliver these large technically diverse projects
Strong customer service and relationship focus both internal and external
Effective management of multi-disciplinary project teams, Engineering, Financial, contractors and other resources
Deliver projects to defined environmental, health and safety requirements
Focus on Financial, Quality and Timely performance of assigned projects
Provide innovative and effective solutions to challenges
We are looking for:
Extensive experience managing and leading technical teams in engineering project delivery
Experienced in project/programme management
Strong financial, risk management and commercial acumen
Experience in engaging with key strategic stakeholders
Experience in managing contracts for project delivery
Broad experience in engineering and an in-depth knowledge of the processes involved in planning, and delivering engineering projects
An engineering qualification and project management experience within the Energy industry is desirable
A Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) and a professional member of Engineering NZ is desirable
