Te Aho o Te Kahu Cancer Control Agency seeks a senior project manager who is passionate about creating changes that result in equitable outcomes and experiences for all patients and whanau affected by cancer.
This is an existing role where the current employee has been seconded to another organisation until September 2025.
Ko wai matou - About us: Te Aho o Te Kahu Cancer Control Agency was established in 2019 to provide national leadership and oversight for cancer control.
The agency has a key role in driving the system change needed to achieve the ambitious goals set out in the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019-2029.
The Equity & Whanau-Centred Care team leads system change projects designed to improve patient experience.
The team also supports all kaimahi across the organisation to develop their knowledge and capability.
We work closely with leaders across the public and community health sectors and are passionate about achieving equitable and whanau-centred outcomes.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do: As the Senior Project Manager Equity, your work will help deliver equitable cancer outcomes and experiences.
You will lead key projects and support the Director of Equity & Whanau-Centred Care to manage the team's portfolio of work.
Ko pukenga - What you'll bring: You will have a natural ability to connect with stakeholders, your team members, peers and others across the Agency and health sector.
In addition, you will need to demonstrate: Experience working with and understanding Maori and Pacific populations Strong people leadership and management skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver quality outcomes Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and foster good stakeholder relationships and partnerships, across a wide range of stakeholders Proven ability to lead/manage multiple projects across workstreams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Relevant professional project management qualification (e.g.
PRINCE2 or equivalent) and/or significant project management experience Confident in the application of a variety of appropriate project and programme management frameworks, and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail Strong budgeting, monitoring and reporting skills A sound understanding of Maori tikanga and kawa and Te Tiriti o Waitangi is highly desirable Experience in the Health sector and an understanding of Machinery of Government is desirable.
