Senior Project Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Details of the offer

We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Project Specialisation Office within Parks & Community Facilities. Leading project teams to deliver high complexity new capital works and renewal projects, you'll be responsible for end-to-end project management and delivery, as well as maintaining effective relationships with business owners, customers and project stakeholders.
Within your role, you will provide technical advice as you lead the delivery of project outputs and outcomes, ensuring accurate fiscal advice in planning, budget allocation and cash flow forecasting. You will also provide coaching and mentoring opportunities to project managers across the region.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will have significant experience in capital works project delivery (including renewals projects), leading multiple project teams responsible for significant and complex budgets (of a value up to $20 million), from programme business case development through to construction site monitoring and asset handover.
You will be well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, being savvy to deal with ambiguity while making quality decisions in a dynamic challenging environment. It should go without saying that you have the agility to work cross functionally across the unit and other departments while managing a number of diverse projects at the same time.
Alongside a collaborative nature and solid relationship management skills, you'll bring a clear customer service ethic as well as a sense of personal ownership and responsibility.
You'll be joining a team of diverse dedicated and respected experts working collaboratively across the region, who are passionate about delivering tangible results for the community and future generations.
We have a culture built on trust and valuing individual as well as collective contributions. Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, you will have some flexibility with how those hours are set.
In return for your hard work, you can expect a flexible and supportive work environment.
Please apply by cover letter (telling us why you are interested in and right for this opportunity) along with your CV.
Please note, this is a 12 month opportunity due to parental leave.
Applications close Wednesday, 6th November 2024
Auckland Council is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and we are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion.
