Programming & Production (Advertising, Arts & Media) Full time An opportunity to work with New Zealand's award-winning public broadcaster, RNZ aims to strengthen Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining content. Te Mahi – About the job We have a vacancy for a dynamic and experienced Senior Producer to join the Nine to Noon production team in either Auckland or Wellington. The role involves creating original content for Nine to Noon on-air and online. You'll be independently generating story ideas, finding talent, and preparing background briefing notes for presenter Kathryn Ryan. You'll have spent some years working across a wide range of content genres – from news and current affairs through to lifestyle & magazine - along with developed skills in digital and social media engagement. You'll be tasked with: Generating strong news and human-interest stories, plus feature interviews for Nine to Noon from both around New Zealand and the world Finding and booking high-quality guests Compiling relevant research material, writing accurate and attractive introductions, question lines, and comprehensive background notes Delivering the stories and content for online, making appropriate use of images, video, graphics, data, and audio Booking studios, phone lines, and making any other arrangements necessary for either live or pre-recorded interviews Collaborating and maintaining effective liaison with News, Digital, and Music, along with other areas of RNZ The successful candidate will have: The ability to be an independent and motivated self-starter Wide general knowledge of regional, national, and international current affairs Sound journalistic and/or research experience Strong command of the English language A practical understanding of RNZ's Te Reo Maori and Pacific Islands pronunciation standards Nga Hua: What we offer A welcoming and inclusive team & organisation Development and regular training opportunities for our people Will match an employee's KiwiSaver contribution up to 4% Additional leave provisions for some roles and the option to buy extra leave Comprehensive parental leave over and above standard legislation RNZ supports work/life balance for our people including working from home initiatives where possible Comprehensive wellbeing support including access to a confidential support, guidance, and counselling service Te Ahurea – Our Culture At RNZ we are committed to fostering an inclusive and constructive culture.
