We have a vacancy for a dynamic and experienced Senior Producer to join the Nine to Noon production team in either Auckland or Wellington.
The role involves creating original content for Nine to Noon on-air and online. You'll be independently generating story ideas, finding talent, and preparing background briefing notes for presenter Kathryn Ryan.
You'll have spent some years working across a wide range of content genres – from news and current affairs through to lifestyle & magazine - along with developed skills in digital and social media engagement.
You'll be tasked with:
Generating strong news and human-interest stories, plus feature interviews for Nine to Noon from both around New Zealand and the world
Finding and booking high-quality guests
Compiling relevant research material, writing accurate and attractive introductions, question lines, and comprehensive background notes
Delivering the stories and content for online, making appropriate use of images, video, graphics, data, and audio
Booking studios, phone lines, and making any other arrangements necessary for either live or pre-recorded interviews
Collaborating and maintaining effective liaison with News, Digital, and Music, along with other areas of RNZ
The successful candidate will have:
The ability to be an independent and motivated self-starter
Wide general knowledge of regional, national, and international current affairs
Sound journalistic and/or research experience
Strong command of the English language
A practical understanding of RNZ's Te Reo Maori and Pacific Islands pronunciation standards
