Senior Procurement Specialist | WellingtonIn this newly created role, you'll be the procurement SME and primary point of contact for a portfolio of internal customers in the business.
Covering our corporate services (people, finance, Governance & Sustainability teams) you'll provide advice, guidance and support on procurement and commercial activity within those portfolios.
You'll do this through delivering good practice planning, sourcing and managing to optimise the performance of procurement and commercial activities across NZ Post, and to maximising the value of procurement and commercial outcomes.
What that really means is you'll engage with key stakeholders within your portfolio, understand their needs, requirements and how you and the team can best support them from a procurement and commercial aspect.
You'll do this by: Completing needs analysis and devising sourcing strategiesLeading end to end vendor selection processes, including early and pre-market engagementEstablishing and undertaking governance and stakeholder engagementDeveloping evaluation frameworks and leading both contract negotiations and concluding of contractsBuilding the bench strength of the procurement function within NZP by assisting with continuous process improvement as well as developing and maintaining strong relationships (internally and externally)Managing a procurement portfolio including balancing work allocations to deliver great procurement outcomes for NZ Post and our stakeholders.You'll be experienced in the world of procurement leading projects, specifically in the plan and source components and supporting the business for effective contract management along with a solid understanding of risk management within a procurement context.
Experienced in working in large and complex environments, you'll be comfortable providing procurement advice to senior stakeholders, analysing issues and evaluating options.
Along with managing diverse internal and external relationships, you'll be adept at building and managing effective project teams.
You'll couple this with: Experience in a multi-supplier environmentDemonstrated experience of complex analysis, assessment and delivery of recommendationsBeing a strong relationship builder, who can navigate issues and find resolutions that benefit all partiesThe ability to deal with multiple shades of grey and ambiguity that filter into our worldsNaturally, you'll also be a strong communicator, who can engage at all levels, taking the complex and distilling it into clear and concise messaging.
