A permanent vacancy exists for an enthusiastic teacher to work with senior primary students at our school. The position is most likely to be in a Y7–8 homeroom.
A current NZ practising certificate is a requirement. Knowledge of the NZ Curriculum is essential. The position is not suitable for a beginning teacher.
We have a school wide focus on well-being and achievement. Our new staff member will add to the pastoral support and care of our students. Having an effective homeroom teacher is our top priority. Our school is committed to School Wide Positive Behaviour for Learning. The successful candidate will be expected to support school-wide initiatives.
We are looking for a candidate who can deliver current literacy and mathematics programmes, the ability to use google applications proficiently, and to support physical education programmes. Having a strength in science education would be an advantage.
It is expected that the successful candidate will involve themselves in the corporate life of the school and be able to take on leadership roles.

Key tasks
Provide effective pastoral support as a form room / home room teacher.
Have an identified strength in one or more curriculum areas.
Implement positive behaviour for learning programmes.
Support the extracurricular activities of students.
