The opportunity :
Join AIA New Zealand as a Senior Pricing Actuary and shape the future of insurance through innovative strategies, impactful decisions, and courageous leadership.
Reporting to the Head of Pricing, you will ensure the profitability and sustainability of AIA New Zealand products after consideration of shareholder requirements, customer value and needs, and market position.
Key responsibilities include :

Taking ownership of managing, prioritizing, and delivering tasks for the Pricing team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in operations
Leading and coaching the Pricing team, fostering a culture of development, innovation, and continuous improvement
Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering trust and alignment towards common objectives
Presenting executive papers and providing strategic insights to senior leadership, influencing decision-making processes
Providing valuable input into the development of the long-term pricing philosophy and strategy, aligning with business objectives and market trends
Leading experience investigations and assumption reviews, leveraging analytical skills to derive actionable insights and recommendations
Monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities for efficiencies, proactively adapting pricing strategies to meet evolving customer needs and competitive landscapes
Ensuring compliance with AIA Group standards, legislative, and statutory requirements, mitigating risks and upholding the integrity of pricing practices
Managing risks allocated to the Pricing team, implementing effective controls and measures to safeguard business interests and customer outcomes.

Ideally, you'll bring :

5-7 years of actuarial pricing / product experience, preferably in life insurance
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Prophet, Excel, and SQL
Ability to develop and direct others, with experience in managing a team
Understanding of IFRS17, legislative, and statutory requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Qualification as a Fellow of the NZ Society of Actuaries or equivalent.
