We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The System Accountability and Settings team is part of the Strategy Group.
We are responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Government Policy Statement on Health and other policy work to optimise system accountability settings and support a well-functioning health system.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do In this role you will help drive core components of our work programme – specifically leading components of the implementation of the Government Policy Statement on Health.
You will also support senior health leadership and work to review and optimise health system accountability instruments and wider settings.
Ko pukenga - What you'll bring * An ability to provide leadership for projects and areas, working with others to ensure all work is well planned, using work planning tools and methods which includes taking strategic and tactical approaches to achieve results through high quality policy advice * A willingness to take ownership; be accountable and recognised by the Ministry with instilled trust and confidence as a senior practitioner of policy advice * Ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work and come to an understanding of unfamiliar and complex concepts and environments * A thorough understanding of public policy and the machinery of government, with a demonstrated knowledge of political administrative processes and structures * Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles * Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field and/or equivalent experience Ko matou me to matou whare - What we bring Unlock your career potential at Manatu Hauora, where you'll discover a world of opportunities for personal and professional growth.
