Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tu Ake is an Aotearoa (NZ) Crown entity that invests in natural disaster research and education as well as providing natural disaster insurance to residential property owners.
The mission of NHC Toka Tu Ake is to reduce the impact on people and property when a natural disaster occurs while administering the natural disaster fund.

We are looking for a Senior Advisor to lead the ongoing development of the Natural Hazards Portal: In this role you will play an influential role in shaping how the Portal is developed and used to enable improved, evidence-based decision making on natural hazard risks in New Zealand.
Reporting to the Head of Risk Reduction and Resilience, you will have demonstrated expertise in hazard risk data and information, with a specific focus on end-user and stakeholder needs.
You will have strong skills in translating ideas into action, thought leadership and be visionary to create and drive strategic change.
As a trusted Senior Advisor, you will have a can-do attitude and be able to: project manage with enthusiasm, motivation and drive.

You will be a credible and trusted person who is actively sought out for their advice, influence, and collaborative approach to health, safety, security, and wellbeing business performance.
Ko wai koe | About You A tertiary relevant qualification.
Experience in/with central government, local government, consultancy, or industry in a hazard risk management/resilience context.
Working knowledge of risk and resilience data and information platforms.
3 years experience in a hazard risk management/resilience context preferred.
