Senior Partnership Advisor I Treaty Partnership & AssuranceThe Maori Strategic Partnerships Team is responsible for providing assurance support with respect to the commitments between MBIE (Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment) and the respective treaty entities and MBIE's responsibilities to the partnerships.The Senior Partnership Advisor is responsible for contributing to the planning of the Treaty Partnerships and Assurance work programme, the co-ordination and monitoring of its implementation and leading the delivery of some of its components.
Within this role you will be expected to develop and maintain a strong understanding of the range of MBIE's partnerships with Maori and MBIE's operational and policy context (as well as the wider Government context) that surround them.
The Senior Partnership Advisor will work across MBIE, collaborating and supporting operational and policy teams that have partnership responsibilities.The Maori Strategic Partnerships Team sits within the Te Kupenga Maori Economic Policy and Strategic Partnerships branch which is responsible for providing assurance to the Secretary and Senior Leadership Team that MBIE is meeting its Treaty obligations and is coordinated in our approach to partnering with iwi/Maori.
The branch works across MBIE and closely with the Matauranga Maori Team.Skills and Experience RequiredWe are looking for an experienced senior advisor, who can manage and coordinate key engagements with iwi groups, has exceptional skills in drafting key documents and has the ability to develop and implement work-programmes.Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders and establish credibility with senior leaders.Ability to navigate and maintain important collaborative relationships and partnerships with Iwi Maori, sector stakeholders, and partners across MBIE and other New Zealand Government agencies and service providers are critical to your success.Demonstrated understanding and/or the applications of the principles of the Treaty and the obligations of the Crown under its provisions.Experience in working with Maori and/or in relationship roles.Your ability to manage a portfolio of commitments as part of the Treaty partnerships and assurance programme.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and the ability to communicate Maori perspectives with a wide range of people at all levels, both internal and external to MBIE.Ability to think and act strategically; can identify and assess risk, provide strategic advice, anticipate consequences and a way forward.Me matatau i te reo Maori me ona tikanga - able to take part in general conversation with speakers of te reo Maori, understand what is said, contribute relevant comments and is committed to further learning.Ability to influence people at a senior level in an organization.Comfortable with organising and facilitating effective meetings and workshops that result in strong engagement and clear action.Demonstrated commitment to helping drive a strong organisational culture at team and branch levels.Can manage workload and priorities to effectively deliver on outcomes.Well-developed analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on collaboration.Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement.Must have the legal right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand.How to Apply:Click here to view a position description.
