Senior Organisational Development Advisor - Volunteer in the Solomon Islands About Our Partner Organisation
The Solomon Islands National Sports Council (NSC) promotes the development of sports and recreation. It provides facilities, conducts research, and disseminates knowledge and advice on sports and recreation. It also has responsibility for managing sports facilities and the country's high-performance sports programme.
The Solomon Islands Government recently launched the National Sport and Recreation Policy. The NSC is partly responsible for ensuring the goals of the policy are implemented. Right now, the main priority for the NSC Board is governance for itself as well as the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees and the various other sport federations within the country.
What You'll Do
As a VSA Volunteer, you'll immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the Solomon Islands helping the NSC to review and deliver people and organisational development strategies that support the NSC's strategic and operational plans. There are focus areas that require a review to ensure they are fit for purpose within the context of a small island developing state with aspirations of success on the regional and world sporting stage.
You will assist the NSC CEO to establish a relevant organisational structure to deliver focused high-performance services supported by sound policies, practices and systems within a resource constrained environment. You will additionally support NSC to be efficient and agile in how it operates and build the capacity of staff to effectively deliver improved results.
Your Skills and Experiences
Qualified and with experience in a Senior Organisational Development role
Experience in capability matrix design, competency frameworks and running end-to-end human resources projects
Knowledge of job-evaluation methodologies
Sound experience in setting up and implementing appraisal systems and processes
Ability to mentor at executive level
