If so, then we want to hear from you!We have an exciting role for a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our professional and multidisciplinary team at MHSOP Inpatients. MHSOP offers a fully integrated community and inpatient mental health service for older people (65 years +). These patients face functional disorders and organic disorders, including dementia with behavioural and psychological symptoms, along with some people under the age of 65 years of age being accepted, if they have an age-related disorder, early onset dementia with BPSD.Our community team provides assessment and treatment for the above clients in their own homes, in Rest Homes and in Private Hospitals. Our inpatient ward provides acute assessment and treatment of this same group and assists in enabling a successful return to the client's home, or if necessary, admission to residential care.Responsibilities will include the assessment and treatment of our client's occupational needs and formulate and facilitate a regular plan of therapeutic activities as well as specialised interventions that are considered an essential component of our multidisciplinary team. You would provide an overarching occupational therapy perspective for the team and service for clients as required, with the opportunity to develop therapeutic groups for a clinically and culturally diverse client group and carry out expert assessments of function. There is an expectation that this will also include comprehensive Mental Health Assessment, Risk Assessment and management plans particularly around non-pharmacological strategies for the management of BPSD.Essential:• New Zealand registration with the Occupational Therapy Board or eligibility to gain registration for overseas applicants• Annual Practising Certificate• At least 5 year's experience as an Occupational Therapist within Mental Health and Addictions services • Knowledge of mental health and working in an older person's mental health setting• Full, clean drivers licenceWhat's in it for you?• Annual practicing certificate is refunded• Support with Immigration/Visa• Discounted services as part of our work perks
