Where you'll be working: Hamilton with some possible travel across the District The details: Permanent full time – 40 hours per week We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Community and Specialty Mental Health and Addictions team. Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity You will play a key role in operationalising a new model of integrated care – a service called Oranga Rangatira that will be an integrated service that is offered to tangata whaiora in the community and within a residential unit. The establishment of this service is one of the seven mental health service developments that are outlined in the Waikato Mental Health System Service Plan (Te Pae Tawhiti). This brings to life the much needed service changes that have been requested by many tangata whaiora, whanau and communities over the years. You will report to the Operations Manager for Community and Specialty Mental Health & Addictions Service leading a multi-disciplinary team (clinical and non-clinical roles) that fosters a culture of mutual respect, safe practice and acknowledges contributions from both cultural and clinical perspectives. Key responsibilities of the role: * Build a high performing team that upholds the culture, values, mission and vision of the service from a Te Ao Maori perspective. * Support mana whenua to exercise their kaitiakitanga and manakitanga obligations within the context of the service. * Engage and work collaboratively with all stakeholders, particularly especially tangata whaiora and whanau. * Implement the operating model for the service that addresses how the structures, people, functions, activities, and infrastructure will support the work of the team. * Foster a culture of openness and quality improvement, with tangata whaiora and whanau at the centre * Encourage and lead innovation and continuous improvement as part of the way we work. Mo tatou Ratonga | About our Service The service has been named Oranga Rangatira to reflect the mana-enhancing intention. Note that 'oranga' in the general sense covers wellbeing, welfare, survival, health and living. The main description for a Rangatira is a first born or high ranking of a senior family in an iwi. However, the characteristics of a Rangatira includes utilising te reo Maori, tikanga, accessing marae, wahi tapu and access to whanau, hapu and iwi. These are all skills that will be offered to whanau under Te Ao Maori, to lift and build their identities, confidence and skills.
