Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Nelson Marlborough seeks three experienced Senior Medical officers to work in our Intensive Care Unit at Nelson Hospital

3x Permanent part time 0.75FTE (60 hours a fortnight)

The Nelson Marlborough region, located at the summit of the South Island in Aotearoa, New Zealand, is spectacular. It is a great place to live for both work and leisure. The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement dependent on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ. SECA | ASMS

In addition to your salary, you will:

Have access to an employer matched Superannuation contribution of up to 6% of annual earnings.

The successful candidates will

Join a team of 2 Anaesthetists with Intensive Care skills and 2 Intensivists.

Participate in an Intensive Care daytime roster and an Intensive Care after-hours 1:7 on call roster.

Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations and provide expert medical care to critical patients in the intensive care unit.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

Our ICU is working towards CICM level 2 ICU accreditation.

The ideal candidates will

Bring clinical expertise to a smaller provincial hospital and enjoy the lifestyle the region has to offer.

Have essential senior experience in providing Intensive Care for patients with acute, severe, and life-threatening conditions.

Be Anaesthetists with ICU expertise, however, all SMOs with ICU experience will also be considered.

Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate with relevant vocational scope with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Work with others to promote a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines.

Demonstrate commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
