This role develops, tracks and delivers stories – and other content such as opinion editorials at both regional and national levels.
Taking a sophisticated approach to media will be the key to your success.Each day will be different.
You might be planning or building internal relationships, developing contacts in the media, attending events, writing media releases or talking to the membership and spokespeople to put together a proactive story.You'll work in an environment where the National Council and Senior Leadership team see media as a key tool to shift the dial and change perceptions of local government and how it delivers for communities.
You will be part of a team of committed, passionate people, who enjoy each other's company and work hard to get the job done.About YouYou will be experienced working in a fast-paced, politically charged environment where you're managing competing interests and priorities.
You'll have established contacts in the media and the ability to turn complex concepts into compelling story pitches and opinion editorials that progress LGNZ's strategy.You might currently be in a media, communications or journalism role looking for your next step.
You'll have great interpersonal and influencing skills and be able to quickly develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.You will be quick to identify opportunities and risks.
