As a Senior Marine Technician, you will leverage your extensive experience to oversee and execute complex marine maintenance and repair tasks. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with a variety of marine systems and equipment. Your role will involve working with a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards, and providing expert guidance on technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repair: Perform advanced maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, rigging, electronics, and other critical marine equipment, together with trailer repairs and maintenance.
Diagnostic Expertise: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service activities, including repairs, inspections, and replacements. Prepare comprehensive reports for management and clients.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide expert advice, and deliver exceptional service. Address any concerns or questions they may have regarding their marine equipment.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Recommend and implement improvements to processes and procedures as needed.
Qualifications: Experience: Requires experience as a marine technician, with a proven track record of handling complex marine systems and equipment.
Education: Relevant technical degree or certification in marine technology, engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical and electronic systems, and hydraulic systems.
Leadership: Assist in motivating a team of technicians, and are able to demonstrate leading and mentoring.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle challenging technical issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and management.
Safety: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in marine maintenance and repair.
Adaptability: Ability to work in varying environments and conditions.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
