The Senior Manager, Traded Market Risk role is a pivotal role within the New Zealand Market and Treasury Risk team. You will be responsible for calculating and analysing the market risk capital outcomes under both the RBNZ and APRA regulatory requirements, performing oversight of the trading portfolios, developing, and maintaining policy and limit frameworks, continuing to ensure that traded market risk exposures are compliant with the agreed risk appetite and delivering timely and accurate management reports to senior stakeholders.
This role is a team leader role. It will have people leadership responsibilities for overseeing and growing 2 to 3 market risk specialists.

As the Senior Manager, Traded Market Risk, you will:
Step into a unique leadership role supporting the Market and Treasury Risk team.
Drive the performance of the team by generating market risk reports, performing data analysis of market data, undertaking mathematical/financial modelling, and delivering on bank-wide transformational projects that impact the traded market risk team.
Provide SME input regarding new products, discounting, and funding risks.
Identify enhancements that can be made to the reporting process which will increase the efficiency and productivity of the team.
Foster collaboration and share expertise ensuring that the Market and Treasury Risk team continue to strengthen the control environment and are viewed as a trusted business advisor.
Ou Pukenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will bring:
A deep passion for financial markets with extensive experience in roles within Market Risk, Markets or Treasury.
Detailed knowledge of interest rate derivative products pricing and risk analytics including OIS discounting and full XVA valuation and risk attribution.
Detailed knowledge of key market risk metrics (value-at-risk, DV01, NPV, etc.) and product valuation methodologies.
Detailed knowledge of regulatory capital methodologies (both RBNZ and APRA).
Ability to inspire and motivate others, including leading a small team of market risk specialists.
Demonstrated model leadership capabilities especially across financial market products.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with senior executives.
