Our client is on the hunt for a Senior Management Accountant to join their close-knit Wellington-based Finance team. Reporting to the Planning and Reporting Manager, you'll be a key part of the FP&A team, supporting cost centre functions with day-to-day advice as well as helping them understand their financial performance. You'll play a key role in the delivery of all central reporting including monthly reporting for Leadership, budgeting and forecasting, as well as preparing financial analysis and insightful commentary. You will also be working across the business, including partnering with strategic business partners and sharing knowledge to support business initiatives, as well as actively challenging your stakeholders and providing analysis to enable effective decision making. Here's what you can expect from this role: Expert Guidance: Provide top-notch management accounting expertise and complex analysis to support effective decision-making. Performance Monitoring: Track and report on financial performance across business units, working closely with P&L owners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of financial results. Finance Partner: Serve as the key Finance contact for your areas, understanding performance drivers, and collaborating on various projects and analyses. Collaborate: You'll work with strategic business partners across your areas, sharing knowledge and working together to support the business on various initiatives, including strategic execution and M&A activity. Insightful Reporting: Prepare detailed monthly management and board reports with clear commentary, graphs, and supporting documentation. Support & Mentoring: Assist the CFO, Head of Finance, and Planning & Reporting Manager with ad-hoc analysis and reporting. Provide coaching and support to Management Accountants. Engagement: Build strong relationships across the business, drive financial education, and innovate to address challenges. What you will bring to their team: Experience: Chartered Accountant or equivalent with 3+ years of FP&A experience in a large corporate environment. Proficient in medium-large FMIS and planning tools. Critical Competencies: Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders. Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the confidence to engage with all levels of the organization and navigate ambiguity effectively.
