If you are able to take initiative and help deliver quality programmes and services to our community within an Aquatic Centre, then become a Senior Lifeguard today!Our friendly Aquatic Services team is seeking a Senior Lifeguard for a permanent full-time role.Key responsibilities for this role include:Supervise our pool users, using available areas and rotations to provide constant supervision of our facilities.Work with the Supervisor to action staff rotations as instructed, ensuring pool supervision meets Pool Safe standards and other industry best practice or guidelines.Support the Supervisor to provide effective supervision of Lifeguards, ensuring delegated work tasks are communicated as directed by the Supervisor.Participate in the delivery of safe and effective aquatic operations, including the daily programme and implementing day-to-day changes required to pool activities.What you will bring:Be a confident swimmer and able to pass an initial water-based skills test.Be willing to gain a National Pool Lifeguard certificate (level 3) and a First Aid certificate.Demonstrated experience in customer relations and communication skills.Experience in supervision of staff.Proven Lifeguarding experience.What we offer:Team members and immediate family swim free of charge - free swimming lessons for school-age children.Career progression and training/development opportunities.Positive focus on employee health and well-being: Workstation assessments, free flu vaccines, EAP services, half-price eye exams, discounted gym memberships.Kiwisaver and Superannuation Schemes.Access to sick leave from day one of employment.The Invercargill City Council is committed to the well-being and protection of children, the elderly, and vulnerable adults.
