NZC takes a global approach and perspective to all our activities to better the game in New Zealand.About the RoleLegal adviceProvide general legal advice to all teams across NZC and the network including guidance to the CEO and Board. Accountable for all legal sign off at NZC.Ensure NZC's legal rights and obligations are clearly understood by providing an effective and efficient legal advisory service, proactively managing our legal risk and advising on and achieving compliance with relevant legislation.Overall accountability for the management and negotiation of contracts, while maintaining the rules and regulations governing cricket in New Zealand.Master AgreementResponsible for advising NZC on a successful negotiation of the Master Agreement and educate and communicate outcomes to all parties within cricket network.Responsibility of the NZC's International Intellectual Property/Trade Mark strategy.Cricket OperationsAccountable for maintaining up to date and accurate information for NZC in relation to regulations and policies governing the sport of cricket in New Zealand.Our Ideal PersonThe Senior Legal Counsel requires a minimum of eight years' experience in a law firm or in a general counsel role in a commercial environment.Holds a strong knowledge of commercial, contract and intellectual property law along with corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.Imperative you can build strong relationships with all stakeholders.Proven ability to manage complex legal issues and provide strategic legal advice.Solution focused utilising effective problem-solving skills.Exceptional drafting ability with high standard of attention to detail.Effective negotiation and communication skills.To join us, you'll share our passion, focus and determination to make cricket a game for all New Zealanders; a game for life; and be energized by the role that you would play in that!If this sounds like a fit for you, please apply through Seek today, including your CV and a cover letter outlining your interest in this opportunity.Please note, all applicants must have the legal right to work and live in New Zealand.
