Senior Laboratory Technician - Chemistry

Oceania Dairy is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Chemistry Laboratory team as a Senior Technician, working in collaboration with all departments across site to manage and meet demands and ensure the continuity of laboratory service. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day laboratory operations, managing your shift, arranging staff training and providing input into process improvement initiatives.Oceania Dairy is a dairy manufacturing plant located in Glenavy, South Canterbury, with a diverse workforce of 400 staff, who specialise in the creation of Milk Powder formula and UHT milk. At Oceania, employees thrive on the same, ensuring they have great people working in a great place making great products.Responsibilities:Arranging daily tasks and day-to-day testing to technicians, ensuring we are meeting TAT.Send delay escalations of any test methods.Arrange 1:1's with technicians in the lab.Escalate any issues regarding instruments and troubleshoot.Send detailed handovers to the next shift and improve communication in the lab.Authorize results as a KTP and make sure all quality requirements are met.Qualifications:Tertiary Qualification in Science or equivalent and min 2 years' experience in an IANZ Accredited Laboratory.Experience as a key training person, with good understanding of ISO 17025 (2017) in relevant discipline and all laboratory related compliance systems.Working knowledge and experience of using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).Method validation/verification of test methods, documentation of SOP's and validation reports will be an advantage.Ability to train, motivate, meet/exceed deadlines and ability to work under pressure and flexible.Why choose Oceania Dairy?Located in the graceful foothills of Waimate with the Pacific Ocean to the east.State-of-the-art facilities.Free employee bus provided from Timaru and Oamaru to travel to site.On-site gym, annual health checks, on-site physiotherapy.Employee Assistance Program.Oceania Dairy has a strong safety culture.Values-led organisation committed to the training and development of employees.Location: Oceania Dairy, located in Glenavy South Canterbury, operates a 24/7 manufacturing operation with shift work.Minimum hours of work: 40 hours per week.
