If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to make a significant impact! Our coastal team is growing, and we are looking for a Principal Coastal Scientist to join us. In this role, you will help deliver and grow our strong forward pipeline of coastal adaptation planning work. You will nurture our client relationships and support the team by providing coaching and mentoring. You will form a key part of our ANZ Water Resources leadership team and support development and implementation of our growth strategy.Responsibilities:Our Principal Coastal Scientist will be responsible for the technical aspects of delivery of projects across our coastal science offering. You will nurture our brand and reputation for excellence in coastal hazards, resilience and adaptation. As a leader in our coastal team, responsibilities include:Lead analysis of coastal processes and provide advice on the nature of these risks in the future.Support coastal communities to evaluate resilience and adaptation options.Lead interdisciplinary teams to design and manage coastal resilience programs.Effectively communicate scientific findings, risk assessments and adaptation plans to stakeholders.Providing expert evidence to panels and courts. Driving innovation in coastal science and adaptation approaches.Grow your network to identify new opportunities for our collective coastal science and engineering expertise.Here's what you'll need:Relevant tertiary education, preferably in environmental science, physical geography or engineering which included studies in coastal processes.At least fifteen years working experience on relevant coastal process, hazard resilience or adaptation projects.Proven ability to share and apply technical knowledge to address coastal problems and determine actions. This ability should include both written reports or papers, and visual presentations.Significant experience in writing proposals for, winning and leading both complex and smaller coastal projects in both the public and private sector.Adept in fostering networks and actively participating in industry discussions centered around safeguarding our coastal communities and environments.Location:Members of our New Zealand team are currently located in our Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland offices.
