What is the opportunity?
Oceania Dairy is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Chemistry Laboratory team as a Senior Technician, working in collaboration with all departments across site to manage and meet demands and ensure the continuity of laboratory service. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day laboratory operations, managing your shift, arranging staff training and providing input into process improvement initiatives.
In the role of Senior Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for (not limited to):
Arranging daily tasks and day to day testing to technicians, ensuring we are meeting TAT.
Send delay escalations of any test methods.
Arrange 1:1's with technicians in the lab.
Escalate any issues regarding instruments and troubleshoot.
Send detailed handovers to the next shift and improve communication in the lab.
Authorize results as a KTP and make sure all quality requirements are met.
The successful applicant will have:
Tertiary Qualification in Science or equivalent and min 2 years' experience in an IANZ Accredited Laboratory.
Experience as a key training person, with good understanding of ISO 17025 (2017) in relevant discipline and all laboratory related compliance systems.
Working knowledge and experience of using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Method validation/verification of test methods, documentation of SOP's and validation reports will be an advantage.
Ability to train, motivate, meeting/exceeding deadlines and ability work under pressure and flexible.
Location: Oceania Dairy, located in Glenavy South Canterbury, operate a 24/7 manufacturing operation with shift work. Minimum hours of work: 40 hours per week. We operate a rotating 10-hour roster based on 4 days on and 3 days off. As you will be a shift worker these hours of work will include weekend work. The start of each shift will depend on the roster given and can range between starting at 6.00am to 11.30am followed by the 10-hour shift.
Salary range for this position: $72,000.00 - 75,000.00
