Senior Information Security Advisors - Permanent 2 x Full time, Permanent positions Location: National Office, Wellington or other locations for the right person The Ministry of Social Development Information, Security and Identity Group plays a vital role in supporting MSD's mission and values. As part of MSD's Organisational Assurance and Communications Group, they offer support and advice across Information Management, Security and Privacy domains. We have two opportunities for Senior Information Security Advisor roles - both in our Information Strategy and Assurance functions. What you'll be doing | He aha tau e mahi ana Your role as a Senior Information Security Advisor will provide expert advice and support related to Information Security. You will use your depth of experience to contribute to the design and implementation of information security controls through risk and assurance activities. As a Senior Information Security Advisor, you will work collaboratively and constructively with other team members and the wider business to ensure that fit-for-purpose business solutions are implemented in line with good information security practices. What you'll need to succeed | Ko nga mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitu To be successful in this role, you will bring: Expert knowledge in Information Security. Broad experience in risk and assurance, particularly regarding Information Governance (including security and privacy). Thorough understanding of relevant statutes, rules, and regulations, including compliance obligations under the Privacy Act 2020, the NZSIM and PSR, and ISO 27001. Sound knowledge of secure system design principles, including how to implement security controls at all levels of the system stack, such as application security, database security, operating system security, and network security. Ability to contribute to the design and implementation of risk and assurance activities related to information management, information security, and information privacy and sharing. Capability to develop, maintain, and implement policies, standards, frameworks, guidance, training, and processes for the Group's functional activities. Strong support and guidance skills to maintain the Group's operations. Collaboration and constructive working skills with other team members and the wider business as well as external partners. Ideally you also have (not essential): Experience in working in the Agile environment. Good understanding of current and emerging technologies, especially those relevant to data protection and privacy such as AI and machine learning, cloud security, Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs).
