This role offers the opportunity to work across various locations in Wellington, Hutt Valley & Wairarapa, with the flexibility of working from home. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the business operationalise changes due to their Holidays Act remediation project or backfilling current Advisors. What you'll do:
As a Senior Human Resources Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert people advice to the Ministry's Senior Leadership Team and other senior managers both onshore and offshore. You will lead strategic people related projects and programmes of work, ensuring a consistent and integrated approach between HR delivery and the overall business strategy. Your ability to develop strong partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.
* Provide strategic-level advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team
* Lead substantial people-related strategic initiatives
* Develop strong understanding of the business contexts and review these against the company's people needs and environment
* Work closely with People Leaders onshore and offshore, proactively identifying the capability and capacity required to deliver on strategic goals
* Provide tactical leadership and practical solutions in areas such as change management, workforce planning, and performance management issues
* Ensure a range of solutions are explored and leaders understand the level of risk involved with a course of action

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Human Resources Advisor role will bring extensive experience in Human Resources along with a proven track record of developing significant HR strategies. Your ability to think both strategically and operationally will be crucial as you provide direction, guidance, and support to the Ministry's Senior Leadership Team. Your demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations coupled with your knowledge of people policies, processes, and systems will enable you to excel in this role.
* Degree in Human Resources, employment law, international relations, political science or an equivalent qualification from a related field; or equivalent level of experience working in a ER/HR role
* Extensive experience in Human Resources and in developing and promoting significant HR strategies and leading-edge HR programmes
* Experience in previous business partnering position/s, supporting senior leaders and executive teams
* Demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations
* An impressive track record of thinking both strategically and operationally
* Knowledge and understanding of people policies, processes and systems
