Senior Health Consultant - Dunedin

Details of the offer

Due to ongoing growth in the South Island region, we have an exciting new opportunity for an outstanding professional to join us in the role of Health Consultant based in Dunedin.
In this supported yet highly autonomous role, you will deliver training programs (first aid, CPR, Fire safety, mental health etc), as well as health monitoring, pre-employment and drug testing services across a wide geographical span within the South Island with a particular focus on servicing clients in and around Dunedin and down to Invercargill.
Therefore, you must be prepared to drive long distances and stay overnight at times.
This role carries with it an extra level of challenge as you will not have immediate in-person support from your colleagues, and therefore you must be confident to work independently, take responsibility, and take charge of anything that is thrown at you with a high level of autonomy and problem solving.
You must be comfortable working with Department of Corrections personnel at the prisons in the region and to run hands-on Fire Safety Training including lighting and extinguishing fires.
You will also be extremely well organized and be able to store equipment and consumables at your home as you won't always be able to go to the Dunedin office to pick up what is needed for the next day.
You will be working a guaranteed minimum of 80 hours per fortnight and flexibility in work hours is essential.
Travel to and from client sites is a key component of the role, and you may be required to work occasional Saturdays.
Early starts and late finishes are at times necessary to meet client needs, and you may have to stay overnight when traveling longer distances.
You will be allocated a company vehicle for work purposes which you take home each night as well as the usual "tools of the trade" including a mobile phone, tablet/laptop, and all required equipment.
Our team comprises health professionals from various disciplines: Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Exercise Physiologists, Paramedics, recent health science graduates, and more!
To be considered you will have: The right to work in New Zealand now A current New Zealand Driver's Licence The ability to pass a Police vetting check The flexibility to travel, work Saturdays, do early starts and late finishes, and stay overnight from time to time A relevant tertiary qualification A current first aid certificate A passion for people and preventative health care The ability to deliver health education in a manner that is engaging and interactive A high level of organisational ability with attention to detail The ability to manage pressure and tight deadlines Benefits: Extensive ongoing training and achievement of unit standards/qualifications Company vehicle (for work use), mobile phone, laptop, and other tools of the trade A competitive annual base salary + overtime at time and a half after 80 hours per fortnight worked An Employee Assistance Program (EAP), staff discounts, and an annual wellness benefit A positive, fun, and passionate work environment where we want our people to thrive through support and development About the Company: Life Care Consultants provides first aid training and health screening services to clients across New Zealand.
