Some of our OTC brands include Maxigesic, Crystaderm, Vitamin C Lipo-sachets, and Maxiclear.Our office is a modern open plan in Takapuna, and we're a stone's throw from Takapuna beach - perfect for a lunchtime walk or swim.About this roleWe seek a New Zealand Resident for the newly created position of Senior Group Accountant.Purpose and scope of the roleThe Senior Group Accountant is responsible for the analysis, preparation, and reporting of IFRS compliant group financial data, while maintaining a system of accounting and taxation records, and a set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the group's reported financial results, taxation, and statutory returns. This extends to local subsidiary reporting.The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of senior financial accounting experience. They will have a comprehensive working understanding of current accounting standards, taxation, and statutory reporting. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders, from senior management, peers, and subordinates to external auditors and accounting and taxation advisors. The candidate should enjoy working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, complex environment. In addition, they should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.Key accountabilitiesIntegral member of an effective and efficient finance team for a publicly listed pharmaceutical company.Ensure accounting and management systems accurately and efficiently capture and report the financial affairs of the Public Company in a manner that facilitates prudent decision-making in both the short and long term.Provide timely and accurate financial, taxation, and statutory reporting to the Financial Controller, advisors, and external auditors.Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of financial analysis for accounting treatment of specialized areas such as research and development, intangible assets, and revenue recognition.Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of detailed accounting policy analysis and position papers for the CFO and Board, including the implementation of new and revised financial reporting standards.Key member of the team managing the finance, policy, budgeting, and performance aspects of the company and its planning processes.Assist the Financial Controller in the development, preparation, and management of the business to cash flow forecasts.Develop, monitor, and analyze key activities, business processes, business risks, and project costings to identify opportunities and threats to statutory compliance.Key member of the team managing the design, procurement, installation, development, security, and management of effective Information Management Systems for the financial reporting (including Payroll) aspects of the business.Assist the Financial Controller in ensuring the administration and enhancement of internal control procedures to protect the Company's assets. This includes delegation authority management and compliance procedures.Assist the Financial Controller in ensuring that the Company has current policy and process documentation appropriate for a publicly listed pharmaceutical company that is adhered to throughout the Company.Key requirementsCA/CPA Qualified.3+ years' experience in a senior financial accounting role.Comprehensive working understanding of current accounting standards, taxation, and statutory reporting.A proven, in-depth understanding of and experience in the preparation of financial statements for a publicly listed pharmaceutical or similar company to International Financial Reporting Standards.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to business partner across all areas of the organisation with strong coaching and mentoring skills.Proven experience in change management and business transformation.This role offers a fantastic challenge in a New Zealand-based emerging global business where success is rewarded.
