In our studio we have a diverse bunch of developers from industry veterans to emerging talent, all with the drive, experience and passion to see our games and studio succeed!This is a full-time, on-site role in Auckland for a Senior Game Designer. The Senior Game Designer will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day creation and development of games. They will create and implement game design systems and mechanics for our mobile games, as well as level design and game development.
What you will be doing:Game design documentation, script writing, level-design, level scripting, data entry and game balancing.Developing prototypes that relate to the vision of the features and/or tasks for which you are responsible.Construct engaging and creative gameplay systems with fun features that will improve user experience, engagement and monetization.Reviewing work at various stages of implementation to ensure the execution matches the vision, goals and quality requirements.Update all project documents and maintain regular updates of all design aspects of the game for an overall quality.Research and develop, contribute in market studies and trends and propose new game concepts/ideas.Leads and mentors other game designers in the studio.Requirements:Have 5+ years of game development experience, preferably working on F2P games.Have worked on the development of at least 2 released games.Excellent understanding of the mobile market.Profound knowledge of monetization in F2P games.Favorable skills to also have:Expertise in Game Design, with experience designing and implementing game mechanics and systems.Experience in level design and game development.Proficient in mobile games.Ability to work well in a collaborative environment and lead a team of designers.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.What we can do for you:Competitive salary: we aim to recognise industry experience and skills along with market value rates.Wellness Days: Mental Health & Wellbeing matters to us, we have dedicated days to help our members refresh, relax and come back to work feel energised.Gym / Club Membership Allowance: We aim to encourage a healthy lifestyle for our members, that's why we provide an allowance so our members will stay active and fit.Southern Cross Wellbeing Two Cover: Health matters, so we've got you covered with fantastic health insurance!Lively & Regular Social Events: Creating a culture of fun and team building is important to us, from pub quizzes, movie nights, escape rooms, pool tournaments to epic Halloween and Christmas Parties.Weekly Fruit + Coffee Machine: stay refreshed and alert every day with our complimentary fresh fruit and high quality coffee beans.Please submit your resume, a cover letter, and any relevant work samples or portfolio materials as part of your application.
