Job Description This is a senior full-time position for an experienced and qualified Senior Food Lead Auditor.
The successful candidate must have prior experience auditing for a third-party Certification Agency across a number of food programs, e.g. FSSC 22000/ISO 22000, SQF, BRC, HACCP, MPI programmes (NP1, NP2, NP3 and Food Control plans).
As a Lead Auditor in the Health & Nutrition business or SGS B NZ, you will be responsible for planning and performing supply chain and third-party Certification audits in accordance with SGS policies and procedures, and undertaking an assessment of the requirements of standards and food industry programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining qualifications and recognition as a Food Auditor in multiple food industry audit standards and programs and conducting a range of food industry program audits across various industry sector codes.
Undertaking management system assessments in accordance with SGS accreditation policies and procedures.
Collating audit findings, preparing reports, and communicating findings to clients to ensure understanding of the requirements and areas that need to be addressed.
Providing an assessment decision and clearly communicating corrective action requirements, including recommending the issue, re-issue, or withdrawal of certificates, and reporting recommendations in accordance with SGS policies and prescribed timeframes.
Acting as a brand ambassador for SGS, which includes acting ethically, with complete integrity, and observing company rules and policies.
Qualifications Lead Auditor experience auditing for a Certification Body and qualified across a wide range of food industry sector NACE codes and/or SGS Technical Area Qualification (TAQ) Codes.
Recognition as Lead Auditor in several food industry programs, such as SQF, FSSC22000, BRC, WSEP, HACCP, and MPI. The auditor recognitions and audit experience must be as a Lead Auditor with a Certification Agency, with evidence of these recognitions available.
Lead Auditor qualifications and experience in ISO standards (e.g. ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 13485) would be advantageous.
The applicant must have successfully completed an IRCA, Exemplar Global, or equivalent recognized Lead Auditor Course and possess a current certificate of this training.
Additional Information A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Computer literacy with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Ability to prioritize workload, balance priorities, and meet internal deadlines and customer service delivery expectations.
Ability to communicate at all levels, work within a team, and build relationships with others.
Flexible and enthusiastic with well-developed customer service skills and experience.
Willingness to travel on business intensively, primarily within New Zealand, but occasionally to Australia and the Pacific Islands.
