Unicorn Hunters are partnering with New Zealand's most successful technology export in their search for a new Senior Financial Accountant. As the business continues to evolve, grow, and diversify, this role will take ownership of a number of high-profile Accounting deliverables for the Group.
The role
Reporting into a wonderful Group Accounting Manager, this vibrant, supportive, and incredibly dynamic finance team of 8 have created an inclusive, collaborative, and diverse learning environment.
This role is technical in nature and will focus on leading month-end processes, reconciliations, transfer pricing, and financial process enhancements. The role will sit in the NZ Accounting team and collaborate daily with teams in the US including the CFO, FP&A teams, and the wider business both domestically and internationally.
What you'll be doing:
Month end process across the NZ and US subsidiaries of the Group
Monthly balance sheet and payroll reconciliations
Responsible for short-term & management incentive calculations for the Group
Ensure accurate maintenance of intangibles and fixed assets registers
Involvement in the accounting of R&D spend, project reporting, capitalised software treatment, and adherence to IAS 38
Involvement in Global R&D Tax Incentive calculations
Preparation of financial statements
Transfer pricing and inter-company loans management
Assist with annual financial statement audit
Assistance with the preparation of board reporting
Coaching and mentoring junior team members

This is an Auckland-based opportunity with a flexible working model allowing 2 days working from home a week. Anchor days (Tues/Wed/Fri) will be spent in brand new, stylish, contemporary offices in the heart of the CBD.

Competitive salary: up to $135k + benefits.
What we need:
4+ years accounting experience, ideally with 1-2 years post qualification experience in a large complex business.
Chartered Accountant.
Big 4 accountancy firm background preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with enterprise accounting & finance systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly - both in writing and orally.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and demands.
Room to develop relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
Commercially focused individual that embraces change and can work in a high intensity fast-paced environment.
