Purpose of the Role This is role is designed to lead the NZHL's Group Finance Team, streamlining, consolidating and coordinating as Group controller, in terms of processes, deadlines & and accounting policies to support the CFO to deliver Group monthly financial statements and analysis to ELT, Board & shareholder accurately and on time.
Your role as Senior Group Finance Manager will have responsibility for:
1. Managing and leading all Group finance processes and outputs, such as
Leading the Group month end process, consolidation & financial reporting for management, Board & ShareholderProducing the monthly Group, and separate business consolidation level reporting including cashflows and commentaryImplementing & maintaining the Group consolidation, forecasting & cashflow toolsCompiling the annual Group financial statements; and coordination of the annual Group budget & audit processesManaging Group payrollReviewing & improving entity level cost management & reporting practicesUndertaking procurement reviews to optimise spend for the Group2. Ensuring Group accounting, forecasting and reporting requirements are implemented and followed by the Group's Finance teams
3. Contribute to the Group's risk management frameworks to mitigate financial risk
4. Lead, coach and mentor the Group Finance Team
5. Project work such as:
implementing and maintaining NZHL franchise financials reporting, benchmarking and analysis and cashflow-forecasting tools and educate usersreviewing suitability of Group finance tools, propose and business case alternatives, and assist in any software selection & implementation processesAbout You You will be adaptable in an ever-changing environment, calm, and a natural problem solver. With a passion for numbers and improving finance systems and processes to benefit the entire organisation.
Key Skills and Experience Required A relevant tertiary qualification CPA or CA certification preferableAt least 5+ years' experience in a relevant role Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulationsGood knowledge and experience with accounting software, MS Excel and the associated data and functionsStrong analytical and reporting skillsKnowledge of the financial industry preferredExcellent communication and people leadership skillsProven ability to build strong relationshipsExcellent technical skills, including Microsoft Excel, Xero, Spotlight and other relevant financial systems What's in it for you
