Lynx Recruitment are partnered with a well regarded civil engineering contractor who have a unique opportunity of joining the team as a Senior Estimator. This is a unique role in a large contractor that allows flexibility and independence for the right candidate.

The role can be based anywhere on the North Island, with a preference for Auckland / Northland.
This role is a new role, due to company growth.

The ideal candidate:
Extensive experience in pricing and tendering large infrastructure projects (8+ years).
Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive estimates.
Ensure continued excellence in every project undertaken.
Keen eye for opportunities to create unique solutions where others might see challenges.
Self-driven, with critical thinking attributes that support us in meeting our customers' needs.
Ability to turn a complex issue into an opportunity.

Key Responsibilities will include:
Develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for complex infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Analyse project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to create detailed and reliable estimates.
Expert use of MS Project and Candy software to develop and manage project schedules and estimates, optimizing efficiency and accuracy.
Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure the best value and quality.
Create and maintain cooperative relationships that promote effective teamwork and collaboration among all stakeholders.
Identify risks, opportunities, and innovative methodologies to develop unique solutions that drive tender success.

Experience:
8+ years hands-on Estimating for Civil and Infrastructure projects (NZ or Australia).
Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
Highly computer literate with advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and CCS or similar estimating software.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
Extensive knowledge and well-established connections within the civil construction industry.
Experienced using CSS CANDY software or similar.
