The Opportunity Joining us as an experienced Senior Estimator, within the Tendering team located in the Auckland Region – Penrose. You will be responsible for producing consistent, accurate cost estimates for projects, coordinating the tender process, including effective and timely delivery of cost estimates as part of the bid management process.
This also includes preparation for the schedule of quantities, which is used in the tendering process, while also completing and updating quantity records. Recalculate quantities in the design or materials change and may, when required, provide guidance to staff allocated to the tender/bid process and lead supplier negotiations. Liaises with the Chief Estimator, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers on a regular basis.
In addition to above, you'll: Utilise your site experience to deliver cost estimates from first principles.Provide support in the development of pre-qualification documents, participate in meetings with potential clients including assessment of alternatives and value engineering.Assist with pricing inputs in accordance with the tender plan created for each project.Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs and a schedule of quantities, used in the tendering process.Recalculate quantities in the design or materials change.Set-up tenders using CCS (Candy) computer based estimating and cost control software.Participates in post tender negotiations and provides supporting analysis and management of identified risks.What we are looking for: Previous experience in delivering Roading and Utilities projects or contracting experience is required.Hold 3-5 years' proven experience in estimation within the sector.Hold relevant tertiary qualifications (B.ENG or QS).Must be proficient in electronic tendering systems CCS Candy.Strong communication and problem solving abilities.REAL BENEFITS Medical insurance for you and your whanau.Life insurance from day 1 of employment.Increased KiwiSaver employer contributions.Enhanced Parental Leave policy, supporting our people with new additions to the family.Ongoing training and development and family scholarships.Excellent discounts at a wide range of retailers.Creating, Connecting and Caring for the Community Our people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities.
