Nau mai haere mai ki ta matou whanau | Welcome to our Fulton Hogan Family We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to join the Fulton Hogan team in the Canterbury region. In this role, you'll be responsible for producing consistent and accurate cost estimates for tenders, coordinating tender invites and adjudication in a timely fashion as part of the bid management process. You will prepare and populate schedules of quantities, provide estimating guidance to staff allocated to the tender/bid process, and lead supplier negotiations. This is a Christchurch-based role, where you will work alongside the Canterbury Bid team at our Hornby office. In addition to the above you will: Assist with pricing inputs in accordance with the tender plan created for each project Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs Set-up tenders using CCS (Candy) computer-based estimating and cost control software Participate in post-tender negotiations and provide supporting analysis and management of identified risks Utilise operational understanding to problem solve whilst providing "best value" tender responses Identify potential commercial advantages, opportunities and problems in the tendering process and communicate findings with relevant stakeholders Good Work equals Good Benefits Medical insurance for you and your whanau. We're looking for someone with: Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge Expertise in electronic tendering systems CCS Candy, Cost X or similar - candy experience is desirable but training will be provided Significant previous estimating experience ideally in roading and contracting (minimum 5 years) Experience in or knowledge of the roading and contracting project management industry and New Zealand marketplace Creating, Connecting and Caring for the Community Our people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills, and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities.
