Senior Environmental Planner - Policy

The role of the Senior Environmental Planner (Policy) is to assist the Environmental Policy Manager on the rolling review of the District Plan, contributing to the growth of the urban environment through structure plan functions, and responding to and managing policy development. Senior Environmental Planners have an active role in participating in multidisciplinary place-based planning projects, providing information, analysis and advice to Council on consenting issues from a broad strategic level to a District Plan focus, and contributing to planning for future urban growth, infrastructure and amenity provision for inclusion in Council strategies, District Plans, Asset Management and Annual Plans. To be successful in this role, you will: Hold a relevant professional qualification in Planning Resource Management, or related field.Have extensive experience in the development control and/or environmental policy areas and will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding and working knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991Have experience in processing applications and/or policy initiative under the Act - we would consider an intermediate planner who may be seeking to advance into a Senior role.Have experience in report preparation and presentation before CouncilExperience in appearing before the Environment Court would be an advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
