About the opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi The Senior Environmental Engineer will be a technical lead for water and wastewater projects and provide subject matter expertise overseeing technical designs and consent requirements in the context of water and wastewater needs for Fonterra's processing and manufacturing plants.
The role will also provide technical support to manufacturing sites, participation in innovation in dairy manufacturing, environment technology & process disciplines and will maintain and develop knowledge in environment technology.
The role contributes to the long-term sustainability goals of the business through a projects and technical support focus.
Other key responsibilities include: Determine feasibility and plan projects for Environment Strategy and Development initiatives.Develop and advise on environmental initiatives and specifications.Undertake options assessment and optimisation of waste treatment systems.Provide general environment and technical support to processing staff.Lead problem solving for environmental non-compliances.Ensure consistent methods are used in the implementation of environmental developments.Provide regular reporting and dissemination of projects and work.Assist in development of environmental staff through training and procedures.Ensure appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental standards are established in technical areas.** Preferred location is Palmerston North, Hamilton or ChristchurchAbout you | Ko wai koe The successful candidate will be someone who believes in seeking out win: win solutions and is very comfortable working collaboratively and helping others to get the best results. Other key success enablers include: Experience in wastewater design or consenting experience.Tertiary qualification in environmental technology or engineering fields.Research projects leading to innovative solutions for problems with a demonstrated ability to complete and implement research findings.Sound understanding of Environmental treatment systems, particularly wastewater & irrigation as well as biological treatment systems.Dairy industry wastewater treatment systems – operational processes and design.Demonstrated experience with environmental risk identification and control.Strong communication skills, allowing you to communicate up and down the business.Are you excited about this opportunity but may only meet some requirements?That's not a problem.
