THE PEOPLE & CAPABILITY (P&C) TEAM The P&C team at Ventia in New Zealand are a small, close-knit, and supportive group.

ABOUT YOU You will be supporting a small/medium organisation at an HR advisory level.
In previous HR roles you will have built your knowledge of NZ employment legislation and also gained experience in advising managers in relation to Company policies and procedures, as well as employment relations queries, including performance management and supporting workplace investigations.
You will need excellent interpersonal skills to build good working relationships and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.

THE ROLE In this role, you will be responsible for providing first-level HR/employee relations advice, case management to the business, supporting the wider People & Capability team and for assisting in building basic employee relations knowledge and capability amongst the Management team.
This role will sit in the People and Capability Advisory Team, with the flexibility of working from home or from the Ventia Freeman's Bay Office – conveniently located near public transport and local shops.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Advise on HR and ER issues and company policies and escalate issues as appropriate.
Provide case management to ensure positive outcomes to the business.
Drive a culture of delivering customer value.
Provide reporting on key trends across regions and sectors.
Support the business with employee lifecycle queries, including policy implementation and employee relations and #greatconversations.
Contribute to ER Policy reviews.
Provide support with local project HR related work (such as change management, restructures etc).
Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment.
Identify areas of continuous improvement and operational excellence (e.g.
technology/innovation to improve processes) and provide feedback to the GM Employee Relations to assist with developing and embedding new processes.
Comply with our Risk Management, Quality and Health, Safety and Environment management systems, including statutory obligations.
Promote and act within our Safe for Life Philosophy both personally and to support the wider network support team.

Ensure the delivery team have the capability and engagement to deliver the project safely, on time and within agreed customer parameters.
Key Experiences & Skills: Tertiary qualification in Human Resources management or a related discipline.
Solid experience in an HR Advisory role.
Experience in managing employee and industrial relations issues.
Strong understanding of employment legislation as well as the ability to interpret industrial/collective instruments.
Experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills – both oral and written communication, including ability to draft high quality HR correspondence.
An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
