Senior Developer 12-months Fixed Term opportunity Wellington CBD based - close to all transport links The API development team at the Ministry of Social Development requires a Senior Developer.
We manage a range of applications, from standalone business applications to highly integrated systems, and develop bespoke solutions and prototypes, often at very short notice.
This position would suit an experienced and capable developer with a strong background in software development, ideally with a tertiary degree in Software Engineering.
The applicant will most likely be an experienced backend, API, and integration developer with several years of experience and a proven track record of delivering high-quality code, who can hit the ground running.
Skills and Requirements to succeed in this role: Experience developing REST and SOAP APIs in Java targeting Azure Cloud, AWS, Oracle, and IBM-based API and ESB platforms such as:  o IBM Integration Bus (IIB) o IBM API Connect API Management and Gateway o IBM Data Power API Gateway o IBM MQ Messaging Queue (MQ) Design expertise using Markdown, Mermaid, C4 Modelling, Open API Specification and Web Services Description Language (WSDL), Azure APIM Sound relational database knowledge and experience, preferably with SQL for PostgreSQL and Oracle products A proven software engineering background with an equivalent tertiary degree Good written and verbal skills; ability to articulate ideas and problem-solve Able to work independently and/or as part of a team Excellent time management Mastery of version control systems (VCS) such as GIT and SVN to track changes, collaborate effectively, and maintain the integrity of the codebase Position Description Salary range: $105,419.00 - $127,930.00 How to apply To apply, click the 'Apply Now' button to upload your CV, cover letter and complete the online application form.
