About the Role
This is an 18-month fixed term opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead and own the design and development of data infrastructure to support business intelligence and analytics capabilities across Bupa New Zealand. This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington with some travel involved.
Working collaboratively with various teams including Data Operations, Finance and Clinical, as a subject matter expert, you will be heavily involved in providing technical guidance, vision and oversight for data engineering.
About You
With at least 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining large-scale data infrastructures, you will be able to demonstrate:
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Proven experience in leading data engineering efforts and delivering complex data projects
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data architecture, and SQL
Experience with data pipeline development, ETL processes, and data integration techniques
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Azure
Expertise in data modelling, data governance, and data quality
Certification in data engineering or a related field preferred
Familiarity with Power BI (or similar business intelligence tools) for data visualization and reporting
