Add expected salary to your profile for insightsAre you a visionary curator with a passion for bringing art and culture to life?The Invercargill Public Art Gallery (IPAG) is seeking a dynamic Senior Curator: Exhibitions to lead our exhibition programme and showcase the rich artistic heritage of Southland.In this unique role based at He Waka Tuia Art + Museum, you'll have the opportunity to shape and curate art and artefact-based exhibitions that resonate with local, national, and international audiences.What You'll Do:Lead the planning, development, and execution of a diverse range of exhibitions.Collaborate with artists, collectors, and cultural institutions to create engaging and accessible exhibitions.Foster strong relationships with local artists, cultural organisations, and iwi, ensuring exhibitions are respectful and inclusive of all communities.Assist in securing funding and managing acquisitions to enhance the gallery's collection.What You'll Bring:A bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Art History, or History, with a postgraduate qualification in Museum Studies or a related discipline.At least 5 years of curatorial experience within the GLAM sector, with a strong track record in exhibition design and collection handling.Broad knowledge of visual and applied arts, along with a deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Maori.Exceptional project management skills.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.If you're ready to take your curatorial career to the next level and contribute to the vibrant arts scene in Southland, we want to hear from you.
