This is an exciting opportunity to take on a 12-month fixed-term contract as a Senior Corporate Accountant within FNZ's Global Finance team. You will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of FNZ Markets, which spans multiple regions including the US, UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In this diverse and dynamic role, you will lead key month-end processes, prepare reconciliations, and drive financial process improvements to support FNZ's continued growth and global expansion.
As the Senior Corporate Accountant, you will be responsible for critical accounting deliverables, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to management and key stakeholders. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your role will include leading the month-end financial close process and collaborating with the global finance team in the UK to meet reporting deadlines. You will prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data, providing insights that drive strategic financial planning and ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will play an essential role in internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and work closely with the FP&A manager to integrate budgeting and forecasting with financial reporting objectives.

Responsibilities

Financial Control:

Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the general ledger for FNZ Markets entities, implementing robust financial controls to safeguard data quality and compliance.
Monitor, evaluate, and improve internal financial controls, ensuring all processes align with best practices and company policies.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring adherence to the company's balance sheet policy and addressing any discrepancies promptly.


Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Lead the month-end close process for FNZ Markets, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with the FNZ Group's global reporting timetable.
Analyse financial data to identify key trends, significant variances, and potential areas for cost control, efficiency improvement, and operational enhancement.
Support both internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with the FP&A manager to provide insights into financial projections and strategic planning.
Assist in the preparation of Management/Board Reports, ensuring key financial insights and performance metrics are clearly communicated to support strategic decision-making.


Leadership:

Provide oversight and guidance to the Finance Assistant and Financial Accountant, ensuring efficient execution of key accounting functions such as bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable and monthly payment runs.
Actively engage in process improvement initiatives, identifying areas where automation, streamlining, or restructuring could drive efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.


Taxation:

Prepare and submit tax filings for FNZ Markets, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations including income tax, GST, FBT, and Payroll Tax.
Collaborate closely with both internal and external tax teams to resolve complex tax issues, ensure timely tax filings, and maintain compliance with all local and international tax obligations.


Other Responsibilities:

Participate in ad-hoc finance projects as they arise, contributing insights and support to initiatives that enhance financial processes, reporting, or business operations.



Ideal Candidate Qualifications

CA qualified (or equivalent professional certification).
Experience in either: Auditing or Business Advisory roles within a CA firm, or Financial and Management Accounting roles preferably within a large corporate.
Strong technical accounting and reporting expertise, with IFRS experience being a significant advantage.
Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to handle complex financial models and data analysis.
Experience with Microsoft Navision (or similar ERP systems) is highly desirable.
Strategic mindset, with the ability to navigate and resolve complex challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Background in Fintech or Financial Services would be advantageous.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
