It is an exciting time to join the Risk and Assurance team as we navigate through the impact of climate change, cost of living, the geopolitical landscape, the global marketplace, and people's expectations for a safer, more resilient, and more equitable society. The team is leading to lift the overall risk and assurance maturity and integrate and strengthen practices across Waka Kotahi.
The current risk and assurance team works from six Waka Kotahi offices across New Zealand and this role brings the opportunity to lead in an exciting flexible and hybrid working environment.
Our Senior Compliance and Integrity Advisor will conduct best practice integrity investigations, providing advice on conflicts of interest, drafting and reviewing policies, and providing input on Waka Kotahi's legislative compliance framework.
Ko koe tenei | About you In addition to your subject matter expertise, and to be successful in this role, you will bring:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in investigations, including integrity, whistleblower and fraud investigations, in a complex organisation.Experience in a variety of legal and/or risk and assurance environments.Experience in legal processes and working under statutory frameworks.You will excel in kotahitanga with strengths in collaboration, and ability to influence, coach and partner to work positively and inclusively.Proven capability to identify and establish effective integrity investigations practices.Excellent capability and understanding of conduct risk management tools and systems.Ability to think strategically and anticipate risks and issues before they arise.Experience of managing competing priorities in a demanding environment.Proven ability to engage with and manage stakeholder relationships at a Senior and Executive level.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to build, lead and leverage relationships across teams and disciplines.Exceptional ability to facilitate, influence and persuade, including connecting the right people together to resolve complex issues.A growth mindset with an appetite to drive change and continuous improvement.Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to translate complex information and uncomplicate risk.Knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori.
