About the role
As our Senior Communications Advisor , you will play an important role in supporting the Group Communications and Brand team to deliver on its goal of building trust and reputation in the Southern Cross brand.
The Group Communications and Brand team has responsibility for the areas of reputation management, corporate communications, media, public relations, the Southern Cross master brand, and Government and stakeholder relations for the group and its businesses.
The Role
Development and delivery of communications plans to support business objectives – with a focus on engaging storytelling.
Support the Head of Communications and PR to manage proactive and reactive media relations including crisis management.
Provide communications advice and support to the businesses as required; elevating any issues as necessary.
Prepare spokespeople for media interviews and provide media training as required.
Support with crisis management and business continuity planning for the Group Communications and Brand team and businesses.
Support with the development and delivery of engaging content for Southern Cross owned channels (social media, website).
About you
Qualification in journalism and/or communications/public relations preferred.
An established track record (7-8 years) in journalism and/or corporate communications/public relations/agency.
Excellent writing skills and a nose for a good story.
Excellent stakeholder management and ability to bring people on the journey.
Ability to work with external agencies and stakeholders.
Familiar with production technologies including digital, printing and video/video editing.
