Lone Star Rototuna, a popular family restaurant in Rototuna Waikato, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Chef/Head Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a full-time role, this is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef to lead the kitchen and create exceptional dining experiences for our valued customers.
What you'll be doing Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, and quality controlCollaborate with the management team to develop innovative menu itemsEnsure adherence to food safety standards and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environmentManage and mentor a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work cultureMonitor inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs to maximise profitabilityWhat we're looking for Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Senior Chef or Head Chef in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishmentStrong knowledge of food preparation techniques, and kitchen managementExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a teamProficient in food cost control, inventory management, and budgetingPassion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes and a commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredientsProven track record of maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient kitchen environmentRelevant qualifications in culinary arts or hospitality management are highly desirableWhat we offer
