It's an exciting time to join Groundline Engineering as we continue to build on our success and take on a broad range of interesting new projects. You will be an essential part of an experienced team of 15+ dedicated engineers and technical specialists. Working collaboratively within a small project delivery team, you will lead overhead line draughting and outputs for the New Zealand-based lines consulting team. This includes the production and checking of drawings required for consulting projects across all our markets of operation.
The Role
As a Senior CAD Technician, you will lead the draughting processes within the lines consulting team, focusing on producing and checking 2D and 3D drawings for various projects while ensuring they meet scope, budget, and time requirements. Additionally, you will develop and implement systems for automating drawing designs, mentor and train junior team members, and collaborate with both local and global teams to enhance project delivery and maintain up-to-date client standards—all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
This is a permanent full-time role, with a minimum of 40 guaranteed hours per week, and a salary range of $80,000 to $120,000 per annum, depending on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
About You
5+ years of experience using 2D and 3D CAD packages (AutoCAD, BricsCAD)
Foundation or Steel Tower drawing experience is highly regarded
Experience in draughting high voltage powerlines (preferred)
Ability to ensure the provision of efficient, high-quality structural engineering drawings
Strong communication and influencing skills
Enjoy working autonomously within a highly collaborative environment
