Mo te turanga - About the role As a Senior Business Analyst in the Cards Switching NZ team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the banks' card switching services. This team is responsible for the online authorization and processing of ATM and POS-acquired card transactions, managing data and reporting for account settlement and ensuring all transactions are processed in a schemes compliant manner. We deliver seamless and secure transaction processing for both ANZ customers and our interchange partners. In this role, you will liaise with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate, and validate business requirements for modifications to business needs and information systems.

Ka aha to ra e kite ai? - What will your day look like As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for authorization and processing of ATM and POS acquired card transactions, including VisaNet, MasterCard and NZ Domestic message protocols.
Analyse and translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, working closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
Conduct gap analysis and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including use cases, process flows, and data models.
Support all stages of testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Provide expertise and guidance on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and the New Zealand domestic card transaction processing landscape.
Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and external vendors.
Understand and support card transaction settlement processing, ensuring our systems assist in accurate and timely settlement of transactions.
Assist in data requirements for transaction processing, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Assist in production incident resolution and problem management, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues to minimize impact on business operations.
Facilitate workshops with stakeholders and internally.
Work in a cross-functional team, taking on a variety of analyst roles, and can flex between business and technical.
Ou Pukenga? - What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Good working experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the financial services or payment processing industry.
Strong understanding of authorization and processing of ATM and POS-acquired card transactions, on VisaNet and MasterCard message protocols.
Working experience with OBIEE/Power Data and SQL/Terradata.
Familiarity with the New Zealand domestic card transaction processing landscape.
Knowledge of card transaction settlement processing.
Experience in data management for transaction processing, including data integrity, security, and compliance.
Experience in incident resolution and problem management.
Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of or experience in Agile and SDLC methods and techniques.
Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, requirements analysis, requirements management.
