We're looking for a Senior Building Control Officer (TA Compliance) to join our Building Services team in Queenstown. What you'll be doing / He aha te mahi You will be responsible for supporting the Team Leader – Building Compliance (Inspections) in the day-to-day leadership of the Compliance Team; administering and enforcing the requirements of the Building Act 2004 in accordance with QLDC's Policies and Procedures. The role will involve: Investigating breaches of the Building Act and issue Notices to Fix and/or Infringements when needed Monitoring ongoing Notices to Fix and decide on appropriate strategies to ensure compliance is achieved Strategically managing customer relationships to resolve disputes while ensuring compliance is achieved Taking the lead role in the enforcement functions of the Territorial Authority (TA) Participating in the Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) function What you'll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka You will have at least 5 years of building control experience and a solid understanding of legislative documents such as the Building Act 2004. Ideally, you will have experience supervising staff and the ability to survey buildings to identify non-compliances with the Building Act in Territorial Authority functions. You should be able to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills. You will be eligible for membership of the Building Officials Institute of NZ (BOINZ).
